Rustlers Restaurant
& Saloon
It is with great sadness that we announce that Rustlers Restaurant and Saloon will not reopen, but we plan to relocate out of Star Valley and open a business elsewhere. Marc and I always dreamed of opening an establishment with a welcoming atmosphere and excellent food. When we moved to Star Valley 6 years ago we began to think that we could achieve our goal. In 2015 we purchased the building in Thayne and dedicated the next two and a half years working everyday to provide a service to Star Valley and jobs for our community.
Along with the pride we feel for achieving our goals, the biggest reward has been the friends and dare we say family that we have gained from employees and patrons who embraced and welcomed us into the community. We loved providing a beautiful and festive environment for lunch and dinner, for holidays and events for all ages, including Wizard of Oz day, Halloween carnivals and Santa, a murder mystery night, and private holiday parties, to name a few.
We are disappointed and saddened by the circumstances that have caused us to make this decision. We are not naïve but always hopeful that humanity, kindness and equality will always prevail, but the discriminatory treatment we received from a portion of the community was persistent and ultimately caused too great of an obstacle to our efforts. The discriminatory treatment we received took away the joy and excitement of our dream, the business we had built and the community we hoped to live in forever.
Again, we will forever be grateful for the opportunity to serve the community of Star Valley. To our wonderful staff that worked so hard to make Rustlers everything we hoped it would be, we say thank you and wish you all happiness and success.
